The preparations for this international event started in
2000. It is the first time that in the Netherlands on such a
scale
an art project will be realized in the former peat moor
district. The project will be carried out on an original
piece of
peat moor connecting with the Veenpark in Barger-Compascuum.
The peat moor district round Emmen was part of the
former Bourtanger moor. There are only a few original
remains and parts of this moor that had already been dug
are
being restored at the
moment.
